Ok, I get to live in fabulous England for a year and the only problem is deciding where. So, could you tell me some nice cities or towns in England?
I'll tell you a little about myself if it helps with the advice. I'm a 19 year old American female. I've lived in a small town in the southern states all my life so I'm not really use to "big city" living but wouldn't mind experiencing it. I've traveled to France, Switzerland, and Italy and loved Italy the best (though all three places were gorgeous). I get along with practically everybody and I'm very excited about England.
Thanks for all your help.
Answer on Can you all help me make my decision?
There are loads of great places in the UK.
If you are after City life, but don't want to end up somewhere where you will have to live in poor quality accommodation, you are better NOT to live in London, but live elsewhere and then visit London when you want to, most cities have fast train services to London.
Most northern UK cities have been hugely redeveloped over the last 15 years, so I'd recommend Liverpool, Manchester or Leeds. All have large student populations and great city centres, with theatres, bars restaurants, galleries and of course shops. You'll have a better standard of living in these cities than in London.
I have lived in Manchester and Leeds, both are very good.
I must warn you, living in the UK is very expensive, you shoudl try to say as much money as possible...
