Does anyone know why I like older music so much?

Should I feel ashamed for liking music like Sade', and other 80's and 90's artists and tunes? Still to this day I will listen and listen. I also listen to music that noone hardly knows. I even put the music on my myspace page as an inkling into my feelings and emotions. I swear by Sade' because her music was pretty much embedded into my psyche since I was a little baby lol. All I heard was Smooth Operator, Love is STP, Cherry Pie, No Ordinary Love, and Cherish the Day amongst other songs from her. Mind you I am in my mid-twenties and this makes me feel strange for liking this music over Trey Songz, Drake, Keri Hilson, etc. I like younger singers too; like my favs are the late Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Mya, and I listen to many others as well from time to time. Don't get me wrong I like them too; Keri and Trey Songz(Like him) are doin their thing. It's just that I prefer as they call them, the dusties lol. Like now and days new-age singers like Maxwell, and Chrisette Michelle appeal more to me. Is this something I should be embarrassed about or worry? I have bigger problems to worry about; my ear for music shouldn't be one of them lol.

Answer on Does anyone know why I like older music so much?

If U like older music it's probably because the new stuff all sucks! I stopped listening to the radio 3 years ago & haven't been able 2 go back since. The music U grew up with is often the best because it has feelings attached 2 it. This new stuff is all based off lame fads that will only last a few more years before dying out. So jam out 2 whatever!

Weight loss/gain question?

I found this equation while trying to learn more about developing a workout plan. This is supposedly how many calories a day I should eat, but I must be missing something. Can someone explain this equation to me:

body-weight in lbs x 18 kcal

If I weigh 190 lbs, and I multiply that by 18k calories, I would have 190x18,000=3,420,000 calories per day. I have a suspicion that I am not going to lose any weight by eating 3.42 million calories a day. I'm thinking I'll probably die on the first day of that routine. All other sources confirmed this equation, without explaining anything. Anyone in yahooland that can explain this to me?

Answer on Weight loss/gain question?

no, you need to eat like 1,700 calories a day to lose weight. just google, calorie maintenance calculator. type in your weight, height, age, & exercise level. and it tells you how many calories you need to lose weight. or even gain weight if you wanted to. it' real simple. God Bless
