I'm going to a party at my friend's house, but I'm on a diet...?

My best friends and I are all getting together to hang out at my friend's house. We're planning on making ice cream sundaes and having pizza. Thing is, I'm on a strict 1200 calorie diet. I actually WANT to eat some ice cream and pizza, but I need to know how I can control my temptations so I don't go OVERBOARD.
Answers are MUCH appreciated.

Remind yourself of your goals...keep the portions small...go for low fat or low sugar ice cream, skip the toppings (or go fat free whipped topping, for example)...thin crust pizza with veggies (no fatty meats) and not a lot of cheese...one or two slices max...

You should make your eating a lifestyle change and not a temporary diet...then you'll learn how to eat all the time, and be able to enjoy a treat now and then, without gorging yourself and packing on the pounds...
